I sprinted, long-jumped, and trained relentlessly for Beijing 2008, only to fall short and cry out to God in disappointment. When I saw Nigeriaโs bobsled team article, I felt Godโs callโto skeleton, a sport Iโd never imagined. My very first run at 120 km/h on ice felt like a leap of faith: terrified, yet trusting Godโs strength. With only months to train, He opened a path for me to make history as the first African woman skeleton Olympian.
