Summary

SummaryIโ€™ve spent nearly four decades in ministry and thought I had balanced healthy rhythms, but when my aortic valve started leaking and I anticipated a second open-heart surgery, I felt anxiety rise. I booked a silent retreat at Estus, journaling alone in a meadow. Suddenly, a bull elk emerged and bugled its heart outโ€”at that moment, I sensed Godโ€™s voice saying: โ€œDo you believe what you preach?โ€ ๐ŸฆŒ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ That encounter reminded me not to worry but to trust Godโ€™s provision, just as Jesus taught about the birds of the air (Matthew 6:26). Ever since, I keep a photo of that elk as a reminder of His faithfulness, no matter what I face.

With four decades of ministry in the rearview mirror, Bryan attended a Harbor Ministry event, just to be supportive. What God had planned though, was something different.
