Alcohol and cannabis gave me a false confidence but stole my relationships, job prospects, and integrity. In 2001, I briefly reconnected with my father but drifted deeper into addiction. A friend invited me to a vibrant charismatic Mass, where I felt God’s acceptance for the first time and left my old life behind. Through rehab, the Disciples of Jesus community, and the loving support of Mark, Maria, and later my wife Jackie, I overcame addiction, embraced sobriety, and found my calling mentoring teens. Facing setbacksβ€”my father’s sudden death and a relapse after inheritanceβ€”I pressed into prayer, reconciliation, and accountability. Today, I’m 13Β½ years clean, serve as a team manager, and lead my family in nightly prayers, proudly declaring Jesus as my Savior.

Growing up amidst challenges, David Maloney grappled with family dynamics, searching for love and acceptance. David’s tumultuous emotions led him down a path of self-blame and anger. This inner turmoil impacted his relationships and emotional well-being, and he found solace in destructive habits. Through his struggles, David’s encounter with faith provided moments of hope. Rediscovering his faith and leaving behind old habits, he found redemption and renewal in God’s grace.
