SummaryI’m Marina, and in 2009 Laura and I met on a mission trip to an orphanage in Kharkiv, Ukraine.πŸ’ž When the war reached our city on the eastern border, we had to gather our two little ones and leave with just a backpack each. We drove sixteen hours, exhausted and scared, until a kind stranger opened her home’s door and gave us her living room to rest.πŸ πŸ™ Back home in the States, Lauraβ€”real and honestβ€”welcomed us into her family, even though she knew it would be hard to host eight people under one roof. We trusted God’s provision, and He moved every mountain: plane tickets, beds, welcome baskets of clothes and toys, and meals were miraculously arranged.🎁🍲 Through this, I lost so much, but God gave me so much more. My entire family now attends Hope Community Church togetherβ€”children running to kids’ ministry, my husband and I worshipping as one.πŸŽ‰ I saw the church live as Jesus intended, giving generously in times of need. God’s faithfulness turned our crisis into a testimony of His abundant provision and love.😊

Thirteen years ago, Laura and Marina met on a mission trip and stayed connected through the years. When the war in Ukraine started, Marina and her family were faced with the hard decision of leaving their home behind to find safety. They made the journey to the United States to stay with Laura’s family and through it all, God has shown up to provide in big ways.
