Summary
SummaryI’m Pastor Zachariah from Mangu, Plateau State. In May 2023, militant violence swept through our villages, leaving 125 dead and 27 villages destroyed 😢. That night, I lost my wife and child—but I survived. I was invited to the Open Doors Trauma Center in Nigeria, where I wrestled with grief and questions pressing on my soul. By God’s grace, I chose to forgive those who killed my family 🕊️. Through Christ’s love, hatred lifted from my heart, and I found peace to continue my ministry in love and hope 🙏.
In May 2023, the Christian communities of Mangu, Plateau State, Nigeria, experienced brutal attacks that left hundreds of mostly Christian villagers dead and tens of thousands displaced. The perpetrators spoke Fulani, shouted Islamic war cries and were recognized as being from the herder communities seasonally migrating through this area. The event irreversibly changed Pastor Zachariah’s life.
