Summary

SummaryI never imagined the day I’d trade a rifle for the Word of God. Growing up in Colombia’s violent landscape, I was forced into guerrilla and paramilitary groups as a teenagerβ€”patrolling forests and carrying a backpack full of fear. But when I met Christ, everything changed. I realized the same courage I used to serve the devil could serve the One who gave me life. Despite constant threatsβ€”being watched, labeled an enemy, told I’d dieβ€”I stand bold, preaching the Gospel. If I could carry a gun without fear, I can carry God’s message with even greater strength. Now I serve Him, knowing He holds me in His hands. Though danger surrounds me, I’d rather die for Christ’s cause than live for the enemy.

Like many of the youth in Colombia, Reina* was recruited to the illegal armed groups who fight to gain and control territory for drug trafficking and other criminal activities. Now in her forties, Reina has found faith in Christ and left her old way of life behind.
