When Jenโs sister died, then my grandmother, then my grandfather, I buried my grief deeper and deeperโuntil one day I couldnโt fake strength anymore and hit rock bottom. As a pastor, I knew every verse and word of encouragement, but nothing worked. Alone and helpless, I cried out, โI canโt fix this,โ and heard Godโs voice: โYouโre rightโฆ but I canโ ๐. In the still darkness, I opened my Bible to Psalmโฏ23 and discovered that true rest comes from the Good Shepherd. The next morning, Jen agreed to join me at a marriage retreat in Nashville, and soon we sensed God calling us to leave our church role and move to a farm ๐. Today at Restoration Family Farm, we fight for rest by guiding weary souls to lie by still waters. My journey taught me that real restoration happens when I stop trying to be the Rockโand let Jesus be mine ๐.
