Summary
Summary“I grew up feeling unloved despite a good home, and by my mid-teens I chased cigarettes, alcohol, and pot to fill an inner void. A job at a real-estate agency introduced me to greyhound gambling, and that addiction destroyed my family, finances, and freedom. I hit rock bottom—arrested, suicidal, and away from my children—until a small church service in Sydney spoke directly to my heart: ‘You’ve tried your way; give God a go.’ I surrendered to Jesus, entered rehab with the Salvation Army, and five years ago I came to Shalom. Since then I’ve been completely sober—no alcohol, drugs, or lies—and God has restored my marriage, family, and purpose as a mentor. Amen!”
