I’ll never forget seeing him so swollen and broken—his jaw shattered, his spirit fading. That night, I whispered through tears, “Dad, I love you—stay with us.” But God had other plans.

In those days, anger consumed me. I circulated petitions, working with victim services and fighting for justice while my heart grew heavy with hatred. For years, I could barely breathe without envisioning revenge. Then a friend, Father Andy Moore, urged me to attend an AXE retreat—a four-day spiritual getaway. I resisted at first, but the Holy Spirit nudged me, and I went. As I sat under pine trees, I heard my dad’s final plea: “Be loving, be caring.” With that echo, I named my father’s attackers aloud and released my anger. My shoulders felt lighter than ever! 🕊️

I kept praying for those who harmed my dad. Over a year later, on February 12, 2021, I walked into a cold prison meeting with his lead offender. I felt no hatred—only compassion. I asked him his last memories of my father, who simply would have given him money if he’d asked. In that moment, I saw Christ’s mercy in action. Forgiving the man who took my dad’s life was the best thing I could’ve done—true peace flooded me, and my life took on new purpose: helping others find reconciliation, sharing my story in prisons, and living out 70×7 forgiveness every day. 🙏❤️
