Summary
SummaryI never imagined saying “yes” to a life group invite would change everything. Back in January 2021, my pastor asked me to lead a small group—I was so hesitant, but I obeyed. By summer, our group of five couples had become a family, serving one another and growing together in faith. My husband Les, despite battling pulmonary fibrosis and a bad back, insisted on a float trip down the Middle Loup River. Seeing him push past his limitations inspired us all. 🛶💨 On that trip, two of us even flipped our kayaks and nearly drowned—but God preserved our lives! 😱 After tubing, we gathered in lawn chairs at the hotel parking lot, laughing and sharing our hearts under the stars. It felt like heaven on earth—no more big‐church anonymity, just authentic community. Les joked it might be his last trip, and his words reminded me of how precious each moment is. God knew I needed this “army” of friends to encourage my soul. 🙏❤️ Life truly is better surrounded by people who love Jesus and each other.
This life group was happy in their comfort zone, until a surprising voice suggested a new idea.
