I’m Melody Alisa, and as a college senior I was devastated to receive a positive diagnosis of genital herpesβ€”an incurable STDβ€”just weeks before Christmas. In my shame and fear, God used that very diagnosis to slow me down, reveal His kindness in providing for me, and call me back to Himself. Twelve years later, repeated blood‑test miraclesβ€”never detecting a single herpes antibodyβ€”remind me that He watches over us even when we’re not looking for Him.

In 2013, God used a positive diagnosis of an incurable STD to get my attention and to get me to slow down living a life that was doing way more harm to me than good. 12 years later, that positive test remains one of the biggest reminders in my life of God’s ability and decision to love us, check for us, watch out for us, and keep us even when we are not looking for or checking for Him. I have only shared this story with a handful of people but lately, God has been teaching me the power of HONESTYβ€” of telling the truth and not hiding and how as we do just that, not only does He get the glory but we get to walk in FREEDOM. There is no shame in Christ or in the Kingdom of God!!! i hope you enjoy. love you.
