Summary

I was born with spina bifida and grew up in a home torn apart by my parents’ ugly divorce and my mother’s pill addiction. Physically neglected and emotionally scarred, my siblings and I lived in fear for three long years. Yet every night I knelt before that picture of Jesus knocking on a door, praying for rescue. One brave sister called CPS, and suddenly we were safe with family. My dad returned, we healed through counseling, and I finally learned to read at ten. Through it all, Jesus never left me—He was my healer, protector, and best friend. Today I’m a bachelor’s graduate, confident in His love, and I know He’s working in families like mine.
