Summary
SummaryShannon recounts holding her two-year-old daughter Eliza, fighting for her life after a sudden E. coli poisoning that shut down her kidneys. Nightly dialysis and tube feedings became their reality, as mounting medical bills threatened to overwhelm them. Yet in the darkest hours—on Christmas Day—Shannon watched in awe as Eliza ate for the first time in months, her pallid eyes suddenly clear. A doctor, dumbfounded, removed Eliza from the transplant list and declared her healing “miraculous.” Through tears and praise, Shannon learned that Emmanuel—God with us—is enough, whether through full restoration or ongoing dependence. 🙏👼
On September 11, 2006, Shannon and her husband experienced every parent’s worst nightmare, the fear of losing a child. Their daughter has been hospitalized due to E-coli poisoning. Her kidney and brain have been attacked and she can only eat through a tube. “Where are you, Lord, in the midst of this?” was Shannon’s question. On Christmas day God had a special miracle for her child that was later confirmed by a doctor. Shannon has learned a lot walking through this journey which she documents in her new book called “Grace for Eliza”.
