Summary

SummaryI grew up in a Christian home, reading the Bible daily, but I realized in my teens that my faith was more outward than heartfelt. I longed for a genuine friendship with God, praying He would show me how to truly walk with Him. 😊 During college in Nashville, Tennessee, I planned to become a physician’s assistant to serve on medical missionsβ€”but God had other plans. He provided two semesters’ worth of tuition, and when I could not afford the rest, I dropped out and began to question if I’d misheard Him. πŸ€” Friends from Uganda invited me to experience their culture, and through that, I sensed God calling me to go there. I saved up and spent seven months in Ceri, Uganda, running a children’s Bible program and sponsoring 23 kidsβ€”seeing firsthand how God cares for the least. πŸ™ In Ceri, I met a little boy going blind because his single mother could not afford surgery. Trusting God, we raised funds for his operation, although it was too late by then. Heartbroken, I knew God was prompting a larger vision. Together with a Ugandan friend, we launched a skills program for single mothersβ€”teaching basket-making, jewelry, and leatherwork so they could earn income, dignify their families, and draw closer to Christ. ❀️ When my savings ran out, God provided again through my sister’s clinic in Nashville. She offered me flexible work so I could spend months each year serving in Uganda. For eight years now, I split my timeβ€”employed as an optometrist assistant in the States and ministering to women and children in Uganda. God’s provision has been real: from sponsoring blind children to graduating mothers who now sell leather goods to safari companies. Even boys who once lived on the streets are now thriving in school and carpentry. Every challengeβ€”dropping out of PA school, funding a mission trip, seeing poverty up closeβ€”has shown me that when God calls, He always provides. πŸ™Œ

ANUM MINISTRIES
Amun means “hope” in the tribal language of Soroti, Uganda.
We are a small, evangelical Christian organization which started in 2017. Our greatest desire is to know God and to make Him known to others.
We have two programs. The first is a children’s Bible program in Apapai village. Any child in the village is welcome to attend. We do color pages, Bible lessons and snacks.
The second is a group for single mothers and other impoverished individuals. We teach them skills such as leather work, jewelry or basket making, then give them opportunities earn an income by making the products. Most artisans choose to earn towards a goal which can help them become financially stable (such as education, housing, a small business or skills course). Making the products also gives us many hours with them to build relationships, study the Bible and pray together.
We have few overhead costs, so almost all the money from each sale goes directly back into the women’s program- meaning you can know that your purchase is helping individuals caught in a cycle of harsh poverty to work towards a better future while providing them with a sense of dignity and worth. And, most importantly we pray it gives them an opportunity to grow closer to their Creator.

The mission of Mountain and Valley Testimonies is to record, share and be apart of what Jesus is doing in people and ministries around the world.
