Summary“I was only two steps ahead of ISIS when we fled our home in the Nineveh Plains. I remember the gunshots at dawn and thinking, ‘What will become of my little boy?’ 🙏 In Erbil, fear and uncertainty weighed on us, but God sustained us. In 2017, with your prayers and Open Doors’ microloan, I returned to those burned streets and found my salon looted and our walls defaced. 🏚️ Yet, I felt a surge of hope—God had not forgotten us. Piece by piece, I rebuilt my home, and from scratch I reopened my beauty salon. 💅 Now, with a team under one roof, I see God’s faithfulness shining brighter than ever. Thank you for standing with me; I pray my story brings courage to other displaced Christians to stay and rebuild their homeland. ✨”

Farah was just one of around 70,000 Christians who fled to Erbil to escape the advancement of so-called Islamic State in 2014. When she returned, Open Doors partners helped her to restore her home and business – thanks to your prayers and support.
