Summary
SummaryIβm Lorena, and whenever I remember the past, my heart aches with tearsβI lost my husband to the insurgents while he was fishing at sea π’. We fled our village and went hungry for 22 days, not knowing where the next meal would come from. After being driven into poverty, I had nothing left to give my children. But in 2021, Open Doors brought us emergency food aid, kitchen utensils, bedding, and even a Bible π. Thanks to your prayers and support, I can feed my children again, and my faith remains unshaken. I read the Bible daily, go to church on Sundays, and pray for strength so my family can keep moving forward. I trust only in God and Jesus Christ π.
Since 2017, the Islamist insurgency in Mozambique is thought to have claimed at least 2,500 lives. Lorenaβs* husband was one of its many victims; Lorena has also been displaced by the violence. Thanks to your prayers, Lorena has received emergency food aid and spiritual support to help her stand strong in her faith.
